How it started/How it’s going

I woke up like this…
October 22, 2021

Story time.

About two years ago, I took a silversmithing class in Brooklyn.

If you remember, 2019 was a much more innocent time. Things were (somewhat) hopeful. We were free to move around, travel, DO things. We were looking forward to 2020. I was taking a class to learn a new skill. That’s how it started.

How it started

Shoutout to Fitzgerald Jewelry for creating a super fun environment. It got me to take two subways and commute for one hour every day to use their workshop.

The pieces created during that time ended up a part of the Subversive limited collection. Some are still available for those brave enough to embrace the power of profanity. Some only live as samples. For others, we take custom orders in case anyone has a strong message they want to send in a subtle (or not so subtle) way.

Then, of course, Covid hit and everything came to a standstill. And from that forced time of introspection, RAE Atelier was born with two new lines of jewelry, a new look and the same mission. To create the things we wish existed.

How it’s going.

After months of starting and stopping, selecting and eliminating, the decision was made to unveil the new brand.

RAE Atelier is not just a jewelry company. It is a creative space where we make things and bring ideas to life. Nothing is off-limits creatively. Nothing is impossible. Except for the things that are not possible, of course. (We’re nothing if not self-effacing.)

And here we are. Launching the Minimalist line today and bringing the Hope line soon as well. I hope (ha!) you like it.

TL;DR: Before Covid RAE started its Subversive line in a workshop in Brooklyn. Now it’s relaunching the brand with two additional lines.
